Cary Williams has now created a unique brand called Too Pretty.

The Too Pretty brand was created out of a Cary’s experience in a male dominated sport: Boxing. As a fighter, Cary was told often that she was Too Pretty to be a boxer. Which really meant in their mind, that she was not capable. Those same people who then saw her fight would say, “You fight like a boy!” And in the world of boxing or any sport where you get punched in the face; that is a compliment. Fast forward 5 years and it dawned on her that she was not the only girl/woman experiencing these comments. There were business owners, surfers, managers, race car drivers, writers, bodybuilders and the list goes on! She launched the Too Pretty brand in late 2015 with a few lines of T-shirts and halter tops. They were a hit (no pun intended)! The social media platforms started to grow and the #tooprettymovement began.

Currently this movement is in full effect with an Instagram project. Girls and women are posting a black and white photo of themselves holding a cardboard sign on which they have written what they are Never Too Pretty to do. They use hash tags #nevertoopretty #tooprettymovement and #thebeautyinstrength and explain what it means to them. The project just started on the 1st of April and it is on fire!

Project #thebeautyinstrength is a short version book that features 6 girls and women who have been extraordinary in what they do and inspiring to other girls and women. They have been in male dominated sports, activities or jobs. This short version of The Beauty in Strength book will be available on our Kickstarter in May. We will be looking for 10 more gals to feature in the long version of the book to be published later in the year.

As a spokesperson for Everlast, Cary created a boxing class format for 24 Hour group fitness called Everlast ShadowBox. Cary shot a training video which was used to certify all 24 Hour Fitness trainers in the ShadowBox format. This class launched across the nation in spring 2009.

Community involvement includes creating the annual Black Tie & Boxing Benefit that not only benefits the non-profit Prime Time Boxing Club training scholarship program, but also has benefited Susan G. Komen for the Cure and other foundations. As a professional boxing promoter in California, Cary put on professional boxing at Raley Field baseball stadium, which was the first time the stadium allowed a boxing venue.

Recently Cary founded the “Knocking Out Obesity” tour which stopped at 10 of the “fattest” cities in the nation (according to Men’s Fitness). Cary conducted non-contact boxing workouts with students at 10 middle schools in the nation. The principals, teachers and students of each of these schools were excited that their school had been chosen as a stop on the tour and asked to be on the list for the following years. Subway was the “lunch time” sponsor at 4 of 10 cities stopped at. The only way to create awareness is to get out there in the communities and that is what the tour is all about.
